Week 2 – Setting Goals / Making Changes

What I learned:

This week I learned about setting goals. You can set big goals but to get to does goals you need small goals.

My Big Goals (longterm)

Improve my health (reduce or stop taking pills for my blood pressure and diabetes), Eat smaller portions (change my eating habits), Get my weight below 190 lbs or 25 % body fat, Keep the weight off that I discard during this program. Learn to eat healthier and always put  in to practice during the rest of my life.

Small Goals (short-term)

Take all my Optifast shakes, take day by day, not lose patience with my family, to keep myself motivated everyday.

What are my wants? To be more active to keep up with my wife and to be able to play with our children (i hope near future) and lot collapse from being too tired.

Obstacles coming up: Works Christmas Party and PotLuck, cookies at work and my wife cooking (filipino food)

Motivation: see results every week and knowing this is for me to feel better and to enjoy like more.

What I did:

This week I took all my Optifast shakes everyday. And had 1/2 cube of chicken broth. Also limited myself to two coke zero per day and drink more water.

I wrote a letter to my future self. Containing my current goals.

How I felt:

This week was harder then what I was expecting. After a few days I got bored with the taste I only had Vanilla flavoured. My wife noticed first that the shakes smell like baby formula. But I have not felt hungry. My highpoint of the day is when I can have my chicken broth after at the end of the day. I have it in a mug with my wife she has a cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate and we talk about the day.
