Newfoundland Rocks
Newfoundland Rocks by Donnie Stone
- Sift together:
- 2 1/4 cups of cream of west flour
- 1 tsp. of baking soda
- 1 tsp. of cinnamon
- ½ tsp. of cloves
- Cream together:
- 1 cup of butter or margarine
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- Gradually (beat in:)
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. of vanilla
- 1 ½ tbsp of water
- Stir in dry ingredients.
- Beat to form stiff but moist peaks:
- 3 egg whites
- pinch of salt
- fold into batter. Drop from a tsp. about 2 inches apart onto greased sheet.
- Bake in preheated 275 F oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden. Makes 10 dozen.
- Preheat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease the baking sheet.
