High-Protein Oats with Cinnamon

  • 1 1/2 cups non-fat milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup rolled oats (quick cooking)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 2 teaspoons firmly packed brown sugar
  1. In medium saucepan, combine the milk and salt and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the oats, reduce heat to low, and stir to combine. Simmer the mixture, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes, until oat flakes are softened.
  3. Serve the oatmeal in warmed bowls, sprinkled with cinnamon, allspice, and brown sugar.

For added fiber, add 1 tbsp wheat bran and 1 tbsp ground flax.
